Malouinière de la Ville-Bague

Ok, back to pictures from France. The conference dinner was in a wonderfully restored privateer's manor outside of St. Malo.

The buses dropped us off at the front of the property so that we could stroll through the front garden toward the manor...

Before dinner the lady and gentleman of the house gave us tours (one in English and one in French). This is the front room. The wall paper is an antique that was original to the house and later found and restored to it. The floors are actually planks from old ships...

The lady of the house's father was a collector and his collections are found throughout the house...

The ceiling of the attic reminded me of an old ship's hull....

Watch out Petros, the lady of the house looks like she knows how to handle that sword...

Our tour ended with a fabulous champagne reception in one of the out buildings...

Even one of the weather vanes is a ship...

The dinner itself was also very nice with a ton of food and wine. Our host and hostess were very kind and gracious. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Next stop Mont Saint Michel.
